Post by snugglebumz » Wed Jan 04, 2006 11:11 am

I'm making some training pants for a 2 year old child. What is the best type of insert to sew into the training pants for absorbancy and to help the child know that she has wet pants?
thanks

I plan to make some for my daughter soon. Im going to use a PUL outer, microfibre for absorbancy, and a layer of sherpa on top so she can still feel wet. Flannelette would do the same thing.

how many layers of microfibre do you plan to use to get the best asborancy not only for day but also for overnight?

Im not sure yet... possibly want them to be light so they feel more like knickers than nappies, so maybe 2 layers microfibre - enough to catch a wee or two.

dont want alot-have you got a nickers pattern-as i do im going to make a few ones for lochlan for kindy next yr-hemp and flannalette inner and knit print outer with pul inside. just extra for the kindy. i use just towelling ones around home and some that have a waterproof layer sewed inside-ill bring on monday and we can unpick to check out. as annoying as it is to have wet everywhere they learn fast
