Prewashing minky and PUL

Post by adbreak » Thu Nov 10, 2011 12:50 pm

Well here goes my first question on here, I've just made up a nappy with a dark blue minky and cream cotton outer, hidden sage PUL which I accidentally put in the wrong way around. I prewashed the cotton but nothing else. After washing the nappy the cotton has gone a slight green colour. Should I be prewashing the PUL?

I've just done a cold wash of my dark minky pieces as I read on greenbeans that this was a good idea. Just wondering about drying them now, line dry, cool dryer, hot dryer?

TIA!

I don't think you need to pre-wash synthetics before sewing, but if you're getting colour bleed then it might pay.
I always pre-wash all finished nappies before using them as the fabric usually has chemicals in it to stop it going mouldy.

There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness' :penguin:
