Emma, this is my youngest at 5 weeks if you want something quick to knit that will still fit http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Khai/tiny-trees-vest-3 he was born 9lb2oz and tall. It's technically 3 month size so an option for a baby gift when you're running late. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library ... -baby-vest

I'm knitting a Rainbow Trout (hat) and a Beth pinafore, but floundering on the straps as I decided to do them in double knitting, which takes forever so I'm slowly trudging through them.

Re: What are your current yarn projects?
I'm feeling inordinately proud because I finished two WIPs today (for my just born second cousin). It looks kind of short, so not sure what I did there, but maybe it is just because it's the six month size (and they are all middle-ish at that age
).

Made the buttons and made a wee hat too.
Now just a silk scarf (for me) and School's Out (for DD2, but might not fit her by the time I'm finished) in my WIP list

Re: What are your current yarn projects?
I've just finished my latest project. A cardigan and hat in 3 month size. Before #3 was born I did this pattern (is from a spotlight book about 7 years ago!) in newborn size blue and pink. Unfortunately DS was a giant baby and born in an unseasonably warm May anyway, so they never got worn. So this time I've done the same blue and pink in 3 month size so will see what gets used! Midwife doesn't seem to think this one will be a giant baby though so might even get to use one of the newborn ones. My next project is probably going to be a purple cardi for Miss 9 (can't remember the name, I bought it off ravelry over a year ago and still haven't started it yet!) but I'm not sure I'll get around to much knitting in the next little while.

Just finished an Abate Jersey for Reid and I love it
Waiting for a couple of test knits to be ready but in the meantime I am playing catch up on my challenge (inspired by Kelly) to knit 52 newborn beanies in 52 weeks to donate
Here is Abate, quick-ish knit in 10ply on 6mm needles

Re: What are your current yarn projects?
I'm another one with an Olearia on the needles. just a few rows past taking the sleeve stitches off.
Also making a jersey for myself. Only 2-3 inches left on the body, then sleeves to go.
Have made a few hats and socks lately (second sock syndrome at the moment though), and just gave a baby knit to our worker on Friday (due in two weeks but we might not be seeing him between now and after the birth). Having a big knitting phase right now.

Love the photos, gorgeous knitting ladies
I've been browsing on ravelry, has anyone here made both the Hine and Quaintly patterns? If so, did you have a preference, as they seem very similar

I done both and prefer Quaintly as after you cast off, you're finished and just need to sew in the endsgoose wrote:Love the photos, gorgeous knitting ladies![]()

Re: What are your current yarn projects?
Same, done both prefer quaintly. Hine has a slightly longer sleeve (and ribbing) if you prefer a little more coverage. Quaintly is also a slimmer fitKrissie wrote:I done both and prefer Quaintly as after you cast off, you're finished and just need to sew in the endsgoose wrote:Love the photos, gorgeous knitting ladies![]()

Re: What are your current yarn projects?
Emma, that blue is just gorgeous on Reid!
I'm adding a No8 wire hat for DH to my list, almost finished the brim. So far, love it for really easy knitting at night while watching tv lol. Both boys have put in their requests for winter hats. Both require colourwork, which I've never done before, but I'm going to give it a try. I'd love to knit a cardigan or two for me, but I'm thinking it'll take me ages so I won't have one for this winter. So many patterns I'd love to try, but I'm still so slow at anything!
