Ittis with elastic problems

Post by MadMel » Mon Apr 30, 2012 11:41 am

In my stash of ittis around 50% of them the elastic has gone in the legs.

Whats the best way to deal with this. Im still using them, I just think they would possibly work better and have better resale if it was fixed.

I can mend, but Im not much of a sewer and the thought of unpicking and sorting elastic and sewing them up again doesnt really appeal

They aren't too difficult to undo and resew. The painful bit is removing and replacing the snaps.

Would I have to remove snaps to get into the elastic?

If they are under a year old, they are still under warranty - so check that out before you go fixing them :)

Unfortunately you do have to remove the snaps. The top stitching at the front is where they are turned through, then the snaps are applied after that.

They must use not so great elastic as I'm finding it lasts half as long as other nappies.
