Fabric for a nappy bag

Fabric for a nappy bag

Postby Bella's mama » Thu Jul 29, 2010 9:39 pm

Am going to give this a go and am wondering which type of fabric I should use. I want it to be hard wearing, and I have got some MM fabric(quilting weight) but am worried this will not wear all that well and that the bag will only last a few months before it looks like cr*p.
Any suggestions?

I use cotton canvas, bit sturdier and sits better. I also use a really heavy weight iron on interfacing to help the bag sit flat on the botton and stand up on the sides.

Thanks...have nice heavy interfacing. Was going to do the whole bag in MM quilting weight, but wonder if I just do the flap bit in that and the rest in a drill or canvas?

I've seen them done in quilting weight but I would probably do the bottom panel in drill or canvas so it wears longer.

I'm going to do one in drill with a coordinating print on the flap.
