I'm quite keen on...

Post by ness » Wed Mar 22, 2006 8:40 am

organising something here in the Manawatu publicity and promotion wise.
Completely unsure where to start. General input from everyone appreciated, and if anyone local is keen to help you'll receive my undying gratitude. Is it possible to get my hands on a demo kit? I'm almost strictly homemade, which works for me, but is not really any good for promoting what is available.Flyers/brochures from the WAHMs would be good too.
Come on all you wonderful cloth Mums in the area, I'm sure we can arrange something suitable to push the cloth barrow.

Hi Ness, I can help as much as I can (without a baby) - but with a load of home made nappies in my lounge!!! Let me know what you have in mind as I will have to work it in with my paid work! Helen

I'm not sure if there is a Fuzzi Bunz agent in Palmy, but I am in Dannevirke. So I have FB flyers and catalogues etc. Let me know... :)

As of today...

I have a display board at the PN Library from 19th April, and the PNCC will let me put a poster up there, and put flyers in their selection of Environmental Brochures.
I got cheeky and asked at the wool shop, where the lady was very encouraging, and will put a poster up (I thought maybe we might catch the odd grandmother or other buying wool for baby knits).
I'm going to try Plunkett again tomorrow, as the office manager had left when I called in. I don't know how successful I'll be, but wish me luck.
I also dropped some of the brochures Lauriel gave me with thebudgeting service.
Anyways, I'm quite happy to put together the display for the Library myself, but any help will be gratefully accepted. I'm going to try Fielding tomorrow too, as technically I'm in the Manawatu District myself, rather than PN city.

so ness, you'll be official regional contact for Manawatu? Can I add the library display to the list of confirmed events?

Hi Ness, I'll give you a ring and see how much I can do to help. I have been pretty busy with work but may be able to pop out next week. Helen

made the booking for the board I suppose thatmeans yes Stacey.
If I can I'd really like to organise a get together for during that week that can be promoted with the display and posters, that way we might get some non TNNers along.

What do I have to do?
What did you say to the council? and the library?
I'm quite shy for things like that and never know what to say.
It's the week just before I go as you already know...

Well, I decided if I'm going...

Post by ness » Fri Mar 31, 2006 8:30 am

to do it then I'm going to go all out...LOL
I have booked the board at the Fielding Library as well, given that is officially my area library as I'm outside of PN.
Soooooo...
what I need to do now is put together a visual (possibly tactile as well, haven't entirely made my mind up here yet) suitable for the library display boards. I figure I'll settle on one lay-out and just get two copies of everything so I can hit both libraries at the same time.

As far as what I said/did Lauriel, I simply bowled on up to the service desks at the libraries and council and told them I'd like to have access to a display area/board for Real Nappy Week promotion.

The City council have said a poster is ok and that I can put flyers in the environmental section of there info brochures. They also gave me a phone number for the Zero Waste man for the area. I haven't actually managed to contact him yet.
