nova, last year CC organised to hire a place in west akld (maternity matters) and we had a'public nappiccino' there. CC did a wee explanation of what is a prefold, fitted, pocket, etc. We had lots of nappies on display and some of us bought biscuits... it was really good I thought :)

Perhaps talk to CC some more and get the details?

I would be delighted to come along on the day and chat to people but really don't have the time to organise it :)

Good luck

I'd be keen to participate but not sure about organising. I'm on the shore though it does make it hard when we are so spread out.

I actually can get a bit involved in organising... was starting to get worried that nothing was happening!

Is anyone talking to Maternity Matters about us using their premises again? I was going to get my friend that does preggy massage for them to ask, but if someone already is then I won't.

I was wondering how feasible it would be to have someone one sewing, and some nappies on display, and some free patterns if anyone was interested (wee weka?) as well as the usual coffe and bikkies... also perhaps someone talking, handing out flyers on why cloth.

What does anyone think, and is their any part of this I should organise or is it under control??

Cheers

i would have NO idea where to start with any of this, i'm just super keen 8)

ummm what can i do?? i can make a pretty mean chocolate brownie, but apart from that, i just don't know :smt102

I'd be keen to help out if it fits in around my two days a week at Uni (Mondays and Wednesdays). I don't have much time to actually organise but can certainly pitch in for a day to set things up, take down, bake biscuits, bring a few nappies etc. etc. I can also help out with computer stuff - pictures, posters, flyers, little blurbs to post up etc. Just tell me what to do. :D

ETA: oh yeah, and I can supply a cloth nappy-wearing baby. :P

Janine, i was wondering if we should have a more central venue? If we were to do out west again, I'd suggest going to Massey Community Centre, it's $5.70/hr not $50 for the morning (which was what it costed us at MM last year).

Hiya
I'd be keen to be invloved... don't have much spare time but will definately be able to be there to help out on the day... If you wanted to go central Grey Lyn community centre is a great space... not sure of the cost. Will find out as we are having our Antenatal groups babies 1st birthday bash there in a few weeks...

I'd be keen to help out on the day too if I'm free. I've always thought Grey Lynn is a huge untapped resource of trendy greenies who need to know about cloth. I mean, aren't they embarrassed that the westies are out-doing them on this?
