Re: the Preloved table.

I'll sort out a float tomorrow. Can I just go to any bank and have them swap the denominations?

What do you think we need? I was thinking like
10 x $1
10 x $2
20 x $5 (and I'd like to be able to send people to swap to pay their DIY class deposit if that's ok?)

Do we need $10?

What sort of box should the money be stored in? And what container for the tags/labels being removed from the nappy when sold? (an ice cream container?)

I was going to include a calculator too but I my school one is packed away with my other resources (no intention to embarrass anyone helping on the preloved stall, I didn't want to assume it wouldn't be needed either, kwim? (I am great with numbers but find I have been a bit slower in my post-baby sleep deprived state)). Calculator needed? Anyone have one to bring along?

Oh, and does anyone have a stash of supermarket bags that we can put the preloved nappy sales in? We use cloth shopping bags so I have zilch bags to reuse.

Re: changing pad

I don't think it was decided what we were going to do with this. Wipeable? What to spray it with? What to wipe it with?

******
Carla - hanging sample thingy sounds fab!

Hannah - sounds great! Look forward to seeing you and your wee man there!

*****
Does anyone have a laminator they can bring on Sunday? I have a couple of pockets left over from my teaching days when I used the school laminator for my resources (hopefully I can find again  ). I have a few pages here I'd like to laminate if poss, but it's no biggy if it doesn't happen.

*****

Sorry, I can't bring tea towels. I just de-commissioned the really old shabby ones to rag-status and now I only have a couple to use

I can bring supermarket bags

Cant help on icecream container as we are df but any container around that size should be fine for both $ and tags I think. Must remember to do a float for myself tomorrow too.

Hannah if you want to make something could you make a couple of signs for the roads near the venue? Just cardboard + vivid kind of thing. Would your kids do it for you 8-) Even just 2 and put them up on Papanui Rd before the intersection

Someone needs to bring coffee

Shall do my best, have already tried to find suitable cardboard around here without luck, shall try mum's.
Would real coffee be ok as could get our friends at Lytelton Coffee Co to donate some ;) we'd need some plungers tho and I'll bring it ground. I have a 4 cup (?) plunger here I can bring too but will need another.

Would it be good to have an example of how much rubbish a weeks worth of disposibles actually is? like a black bag half filled (is that a weeks?) Also just looked at the Aucklanders talking about having a sposy packet thre to show that even disposibles say to flush solids?

I will have some 2nd hand naps/covers to sell as well.

Inserts would be good I'm sure Laura.
Can get us fresh coffee, would 1 or 2kg be enough?
Carlas just visited and has got lots of nappy making fabric sorted for the wall hanging fabric thing. Is there a link, someone might have, to good fabric descriptions on here? will just write our own otherwise ;)

NEEDED STILL:
I don't have any black rubbish bags left? anyone got one we can fill up?
Sounds like dp can print out the poster in black n' white large enough for signs :) still need cardboard or similar backing for them. Will confirm tonight if he gets them printed at his work.

yeah would make sense to display the current system aye. Hmmmm we could mark a line on the outside? How high does 2 weeks worth full of pongy, sposeys go to in one of those? half way? Does the new bin fit 2 black bags worth of rubbish in them, anyone know?

I can bring a sposie packet 8-[

No rubbish bags here though

I will have a look in the garage, I think we might have a couple of boxes left over from moving that might be big enough for signs. I am still trying to finish off stuff for my table and my Mum is here all weekend, otherwise I would offer to do the signs but I am jsut not going to have any time. Hannah let me know if you want them. Otherwise I will bring on the day and then maybe someone can do them then

Coffee sounds yum! I will bring a plunger too but I think its only a small one.

When we were using sposies fulltime when R was newborn we were filling over half a bag a week, closer to a full bag I think... I'm guessing that would be almost a full red bins worth over 2weeks ? I don't know but we hardly ever need to put our red bin out there must be a reason they are so big?

No bags here - my sister's bins arrived much later than ours so our spare bags when to her. I'm not so passionate about the rubbish side of things this year, though with the Council's switch to bins it is still an issue, though hard to measure how much waste it would be (for me the emphasis this year is saving money - use cloth and/or DIY KWIM).

I sorted the preloved table cash float today - the lady serving me said she heard the community notice this morning 8-)

Laura, I don't have a problem with selling homemade stuff. I have unused branded stuff to sell too.
