I think that's a great idea to offer a discount to last year's retailers. I'm happy to take responsibilty for retailers again this year.

Lisa, are you happy taking care of the venue? Do you need me to find out anything about te atatu?

Te Atatu is avail some of our dates - looking at pricing etc and comparing with Welesley

Otherwise we might have to look at other types of venues.
I'm happy to help with venue & budgeting side.

Would be great if we could get one more person on board for organsing volunteers.
(welcomers, nappy demo's, sewing demo's / follow on sewing tutors)

I really want to do the cloth in childcare thing, so dont want to get bogged down.

Welesley - availble 9th Oct only
bond -$200
peak rate - $56 per hour for Tarapunga Room (150 people, ground floor)
need to apply for community discount

Te Atatu - available 16 Oct only
waiting on prices

Im voting Welesly.. i havnt seen the site but strategically speaking i think it is a better point for people..
Hopefully with enough people we can cough it up :)

Not sure, guess we are waiting for the venue to be confirmed.. then i think a nappicino will be in order to sum up the tasks and see how many volunteers we need and for what ?!

OK, I think we should pencil in a meeting about this so we can get cracking and secure some good promotional opportunities and retailers.

I'm happy to host anyone interested in helping out at my house for an evening/weekend catch-up (so older kids can be left behind to let us focus), but given the location of those who are interested in helping organise so far, I am thinking a North Shore venue might be more central? How about the weekend of 19/20 June?

 I'd be much happier to drive to your place, Rebecca! North Shore is outside my comfort driving zone.DH is working on the 19th. Evening is a possibiliy, but any chance I can get a ride with you

Well unless its my place (or close too) I need to carpool too :rotfl:

That weekend is fine... I prefer Saturdays or late afternoon on Sunday.

We are penciled in for Welesley, and they are sending out their discount form... but waitakere haven't answered my last email about Te Atatu prices.... like I'm going to book it without them talling me the price

was just reading this... Does "Auckland City" mean only areas under Auckland City council? not Waitakere or NS city council?

Happy to take you to the shore if needed Audrey - and pick up any other extras on the way too :D

I think Carla J is also interested in helping organise (not so much on the day as she will have a little bubba). So it looks like our organising committee is Lisa, Audrey, Rebecca, Lunaty (sorry not sure of your real name!) and possibly Carla. Any other takers?

Yes this is indeed the case.. she can only advertise it in her newspaper if it is indeed in Auckland city district.. but if it ends up being somewhere else I will find other ways to advertise too LOL

19/20th is fine with me too :)
Anyhow, if were still looking for a place to meet up we can always use my house, im in Torbay. otherwise it might be more comfortable for all to go to someone that already hosted something?

Just working out the family plans for this weekend and we're out Saturday Afternoon-Evening, and Church Sunday Morning...

What works best for people Sat am or Sunday pm?
